For Sale -

Canon EF100mm f/2.8 Macro USM lens in great condition. This lens comes with both a lens hood to protect the front of the lens and eliminate lens flare, and the Canon tripod ring (about £150 for the tripod ring if you can find it) which makes it easier to use on a tripod and balances the camera/lens on a tripod head better.

The lens is in fantastic condition and is optically perfect.

In the shops the lens is around £420. With the tripod ring and lens hood it would be closer £580 - that's at the reduced price now the £1000 IS Macro lens has appeared.

Asking price: £400 ono.

Pictures if anyone wants to see it.

I would like to see some real life examples taken with the new and old 100 Macro lenses as well as feedback on the differences between the 2 as they are now miles apart cost wise

As soon as my new one turns up, I'll get some images up of it. Sadly I won't be able to do a direct comparison unless I can get hold of an older one from somewhere, but everyone knows how good the old one is.

I'm not sure if the new one is a spectacular leap forward in image quality. It's supposed to be better but the old one was pretty stellar. I think the extra money is for the handling and the IS system which for some photographers, but not all, will be a huge incentive.
