First steps in EOS Movies
Have you got an EOS camera that shoots HD movie but aren’t sure where to start? If so, this is for you. The course will explain the fundamentals of HD Movie shooting, the settings that are important on the camera and the concepts of shooting movies like shot type and how to go about building a story. We’ll also cover the basic accessories that you might wish to consider to help improve the quality of your movies, including sound recording and keeping the camera stable. We’ll also discuss how to get your footage onto your computer and into an editing program.

Brilliant Speedlite flash!
Are you struggling with Speedlite flash? Would you like to inject some light, and life, into your images? This course will shed light where there is darkness and take you through the range of options in the Speedlite world, from a humble single Speedlite mounted on-camera through to complex multiple wireless flash setups that will make your images stand out from the crowd. If you’re not currently using flash, or are scared of what could go wrong, don’t be. We’ll make sure you understand the fundamentals of flash and in no time, you’ll be flashing like a pro!

Hurst is a small village in Berkshire between Reading and Maidenhead, you’ll find easy access from the M4 at junction 8/9 and the M40 at junction 4. If you are travelling by train the nearest station, Twyford, is only five minutes away from the studio.
Class size
To maximise your learning we limit these courses to only six attendees.
What you need to bring
There will be practical activities, so bring your camera (that way you get to ask questions about your specific model too!) and some memory cards. Don’t forget to make sure your camera battery is fully charged too. For the flash course, if you have a Speedlite or even several different Canon models then it’s definitely worth bringing them too.
